Insight GRM is an Oregon-based company that helps restaurant owners and managers cost effectively measure their customers’ feedback, improve customer service, and respond to customers in a timely and professional manner. Our team brings extensive restaurant management experience, quality improvement knowledge, and business operation skills to the table.

Our innovative guest relationship management system offers a program that can adapt to our clients’ needs regardless of their location or size. We are proud Associate Members of the Oregon and Washington Restaurant Associations, and an iCare partner with SYSCO Food Services in both Portland and Seattle.

History

In 2002, company founders Pat and Lee Merrill moved from Kansas to the Oregon Coast where they started Insight Comment Card Management.

Pat Merrill, Vice President of Client Services, had spent more than thirty years developing, owning, and managing restaurants. Knowing the value of comment cards for understanding the customer’s viewpoint, Pat recognized that restaurant operators could benefit from a service that not only provides them with comment cards that capture the most pertinent information, but also makes it easy for them to respond to their customers using personalized letters.

Lee Merrill, Vice President of Operations, took Pat’s ideas one-step further. With her extensive background in the health care industry and as a managed care operations executive, she saw the value of offering a service that would both store and analyze data from the cards and then report performance trends that restaurant operators could use to improve the quality of their operations.

In 2005, Pat’s daughter Monica Mylet and her husband Phil Mylet joined the company as partners. Monica and Phil brought an infusion of new ideas, energy, and direct sales experience to the business. Because the new company would be broader in scope, they changed the name to Insight Guest Relationship Management.

Phil Mylet, Chief Executive Officer, combines a background in finance, as well as a broad knowledge of sales, trading, and risk management from his work in the institutional brokerage and hedge fund industries.

Monica Mylet, Vice President of Public Relations, worked as Executive Assistant to Marc Benioff when he created Salesforce.com. She has extensive knowledge of start-up business activities along with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
